The mission of the Borchard Foundation Center on International Education is to create a unique bridge between France and the United States – a bridge created through the scholarship and creativity of distinguished individuals involved in cultural, academic, and public affairs.
The Borchard Foundation Center on International Education was authorized and created in 1987 by the Albert and Elaine Borchard Foundation, which is based in Woodland Hills, California. The Borchard Foundation Center on International Education offers grants for both semester (or quarter) Scholar-in-Residencies and international colloquia at the Château de la Bretesche in France. The Center also supports international graduate studies in the humanities and medicine.
An Academic Advisory Board guides the academic programs and, with the Center’s co-Directors, comprise the five member grants selection committee.
